Bone Cult are a 'Death Electronica' Duo based in Nottingham, UK.
Driving beats and synths power Bone Cult's sound which is best described as 'Death Electronica' . A hybrid of rock band and electronic production, the duo break the conventions and defy all expectations of genre.
Starting out as a stripped back guitar and drums outfit, the duo evolved by embracing technology to create new unheard sounds. Self-releasing three diverse EPs signalled the band's fierce self-reliance and commitment to breaching new musical territory.
Taking inspiration from Daft Punk, The Prodigy, Slipknot, Death From Above 1979 and Enter Shikari, the duo's productions span a vivid and vast spectrum of sounds. Relentless touring has seen the band perform to festivals across Europe, North America and Asia.
The band's popularity has soared internationally following their inclusion as characters in the online videogame 'Avakin Life'. 2020 sees the band release their first full length LP, which is due for release March 30th, supported by singles 'Cruel' and 'Feed on You' generating fervent anticipation from their loyal fans.
Inspired to create something new...
From watching countless live bands, Bone Cult was formed as a reaction to the scene dominated by formulaic guitar bands. Wanting to push the boundaries of what was capable from a live set at the underground level, Bone Cult created a mesmerising light show to compliment their striking masked image.
Starting out in Leicester, the band's first headline show featured a lineup of burlesque dancers performing alongside them. After curating their own sold-out festival in Leicester, the band re-located to London to expose their music to a larger audience. The band went on to build up a fanbase in the capital after playing over 20 gigs and festivals in the city including Camden Rocks Festival and FuturePunkFest in their first year alone.
As of 2020 the band established itself in Nottingham and have already been included on slots at Dot to Dot Festival, Hockley Hustle, Rock City and Rough Trade. This has lead to a series of support slot bookings for high-profile acts including Slaves, Sleaford Mods, Rolo Tomassi and The Qemists.
On Bone Cult's previous Asia tour, the band performed in Japan and South Korea including a show at the Zandari Music Festival in Seoul. Having been scouted by the Canadian festival 'Indie Week' booker whilst performing at the FOCUS Wales festival, the band played Toronto in late 2019 following their East Coast USA tour in April last year.
